HEADS TOGETHER - IN AID OF MIND

April 2020 (CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC)

For my final university project, I had planned to host an 'open mic' event that was due to be held at the Eagle and Ball Pub on the Birmingham City University - City Centre Campus on Saturday 4th April 2020. However, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and Government Restrictions imposed in the United Kingdom, the event was cancelled three weeks before the day.

The event was to take the form of a 'social-pub' night to raise money for the Mental Health charity MIND where attendees would pay an entry fee to gain access to the venue and would be able to enjoy acoustic performances from a select line-up of guests.

DOG EDUCATION PROJECT: PAWS FOR THE CAUSE

December 2019

Working with an external client on this event, me and a team produced this formative evening talk for the Dog Education Project based in Birmingham. Taking place on the 6th December at the Midlands Art Centre, the first event under the Dog Education Projects brand featured talks from third parties such as the Birmingham Dog Home and A Star Canine Spa; culminating in as talk from Hannah Molloy - star of Channel 4's Puppy School. The event's purpose was to help fundraise for the charity and inform attendees about good dog behaviour and how to properly look after a pet dog.

MISSION EVENTS PRESENTS: JINGLE GAMES

December 2018

As part of our University Degree, our team produced a one-off charity event in aid of Cancer Research. With our event, we wanted to raise money and awareness of cancer, while at the same time bringing people together who have been affected by it. We chose to do it during the Christmas period in the penultimate week of term as a ‘break-away’ for students who are coming up to deadline period. We aimed to raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research; while also getting a high customer satisfaction rate.

For the event; I looked after the social media and online ticketing for the event. I made sure the information was up-to-date and the web pages worked as they should. I also answered any questions that came in through social media, as well as creating admin for the group such as the shared Google Drive and Facebook Messenger chat where we could collate information and discuss the production of the event.

The event was a 'social-games' night, with a pub quiz and games for the attendees to participate in. The event raised over £100 for the charity and was considered to be a great success, with customer feedback at a 98% satisfaction rate.
